Washing of hands does not stop the spread of COVID-19.

Answer:

False, washing hands thoroughly with soap for 20 seconds can help reduce the spread.

FURTHER INFORMATION

A video on YouTube shows a man who claims that washing hands is futile in protecting yourself from COVID-19 as it does not remove the coronavirus [SARS-CoV-2]. The man is an American doctor who has a number of highly criticised theories about medical practice and the coronavirus. We have previously debunked about his theory that 5G technology weakens the immune system and causes COVID-19.

This claim about handwashing is false, the public is advised to thoroughly wash their hands with soap for twenty seconds. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) people should, ‘regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water which kills viruses that may be on your hands.’
